Experiencing treatment for early-stage breast cancer made me realize the unexpected fragility of my own body.

 

Humans maintain their physical form through the bonds between atoms, but death severs those bonds and lastly returns us to the earth.

 

If we view death as the natural phenomenon of the body returning to nature, the fear of death lessens, and I believe we can face the present with greater positivity.

宇宙の構造を人体に表象させたインドの細密画・人体マンダラから着想を得て制作しました。

 

20代後半に初期の乳がんが見つかり、治療の中で、自身の肉体の意外な脆さに気付かされました。

ヒトは原子同士の結びつきで身体の形を保っていますが、死によってその結びつきを失い、灰になったり、土に還ります。死とは、肉体が自然に還っていく現象と捉えると、死への恐れが和らぎ、現在と向き合うことが出来るように思います。
